Re-uniting
the global family.
For
a number of years members of the Botting family in
different parts of
the world have been researching their Family
History. Some books have
been published the last of which (that we are
aware of) was Pick,
Plough, Hammer and Barrel: 400 years of the
Botting Family 1597-1997,
compiled and edited by Alan D Botting of Adelaide,
Australia. This
was published prior to a World Botting Family
Reunion held in
Adelaide in 1997. Botting family from Australia
and New Zealand, and
representatives from South Africa, the United
States, Canada and
England, attended that event.
Two previous Reunions had been
held in Dunedin, New Zealand in 1977 and 1987
attended by Australian
and New Zealand family members, and then more
recently in
Christchurch in 1999.
A reunion held at Alfriston, UK, in May
2008 helped foster stronger links between members
of the UK Botting
family and those from other parts of the world.
Since that time efforts continue to be made to link up
family
members undertaking research into the history of Botting
families
throughout the world. The aim has been to establish a
common database
of what is known already, and to work together to fill
in the
numerous gaps. This is a huge and ongoing task.
If you are a
Botting descendent with an interest in genealogical
research, and
would like to know more about our family history, then
get in touch
with us through this website.
Thank you for your interest in
the Botting family.
